Professor Jonathan Haynes (English) has a review of Kenneth Gyang’s film Confusion Na Wa in the current issue of African Studies Review. He wrote the Foreword to Auteuring Nollywood, edited by Adeshina Afolayan (Ibadan, Nigeria: University Press), which was launched with considerable fanfare in Lagos at the end of July (in his absence, unfortunately). He’s now a member of the Michigan State University Press Editorial Board for African Arts and Humanities and of the Scientific Committee for an international workshop, Featuring Africa: Exploring the Plurality of African Digital Film Cultures, Laboratoire d’Anthropologie Sociale et Culturelle, University of Liege, 2014. The Inamori Foundation has asked him to be a nominator for the 2015 Kyoto Prize in Arts and Philosophy.
