Ann Larson, alumna of the English Department's graduate program, and former Assistant Director of the LIU Brooklyn Writing Center; will be participating in a panel discussion entitled "Comp/Rhet, Academic Labor, and the Future of English Studies." Also on the panel will be Karen Pitt, who is an alumna of our graduate program and currently a grad student in English at CUNY. This event is sponsored by the CUNY Graduate Center's PhD Program in English, the Graduate Center Composition and Rhetoric Community, and the Adjunct Project. The inspiration for the panel is Larson's 2012 blog post, "Rhetoric and Composition: Academic Capitalism and Cheap Teachers," which you can read here.
