Eric Blake, an alum of the English Department's master's-degree program, and also an adjunct professor in the Department, is the principal of Science, Technology and Research Early College School, in Brooklyn.
An article in today's New York Times discusses various ways principals are coping with recent budget cuts. Blake is one of five principals mentioned in the article.
He recently had to let an English teacher go, and in order to fill the gap, he will be teaching English himself this year--in addition to being principal. "I believe in leading by example," he says.
Hang in there, Eric.
